There are inherent challenges for teams and leaders in remote work. We explore with  Sharon and Nim on how leaders need to understand factors that can make remote work especially demanding. Otherwise high-performing employees may experience declines in job performance and engagement when they begin working remotely, especially in the absence of trust and effective communication.

Sharon explains how as leaders, we need to amp up our self awareness and the sense of empathetic curiosity.

"The leader sets the tone for the workplace. Like it or not, his or her energy will affect the team. The leader therefore needs to get his or her energy right. Self Awareness is key. No one is perfect but to be aware of how your actions and words can affect those who work with you is key to ensuring that the tone you set is one that is conducive for a productive and positive work environment."
